Construction Project of Service Management Building of the Second Garden Expo of Hebei Province

Grade II service area building B is located beside a flower sea in Qinhuangdao Garden Expo Park.

Starting from the surrounding roads and environment, the building plan presents a ring shape that approaches a triangle, embedded in the surrounding environment with rich vegetation and forms a quiet courtyard inside.

The roof presents a continuous double-slope shape, and the plane that combines the curves is graceful and streamlined. Both the rough sketch seen from the viewer’s perspective and the boundary of dropped light and shadow remain in a round and flowing state.

The ring is divided into three sections with different functions, which make the active space of surrounding roads, flower sea with lush vegetation, and the quiet courtyard form a flowing spatial connection. From the roads to courtyards and then to the open flower sea is a process of changing spatial experience from noisy to quiet and to dynamic.

Grade II service area D building is located on the lakeside in the southeast corner of Qinhuangdao Garden Expo Park. The lakeshore plank road stretches along the lake tortuously and surrounds the square. The building serves as a node on the lakeshore and lies on the shoreline in a zigzag line.

As a continuation of the lakeshore plank road, the building starts from the artistic conception of the tortuous corridors of the Gardens in the regions south of the Yangtze River. The upper and lower tortuous corridors surround the boxes of dining hall and other service buildings.

Strolling in the corridors, tourists can enjoy different scenery at one step. Walk through the virtual contrast between layers of courtyards and the building, the landscape frame towards the lake is as the climax of the space experience. At the end, tourists can walk back to the square that opens towards the lake, and complete the layered experience of strolling in the building.
